Illini-Alert is used for incidents which present an imminent threat to life, health, or safety to the general campus population. These messages provide emergency information and instructions for personal protective actions. Illini-Alert sends email and text messages, posts to Facebook and Twitter, and triggers the Emergency Web Alert System for University websites.

Registering for Illini-Alert

Email: All current University of Illinois students, faculty, and staff will receive Illini-Alert messages to their NetID@illinois.edu email addresses.

Text: All current University of Illinois students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to register their cell phone number and an alternate email address to receive Illini-Alert messages. You may register up to three cell phone numbers and three email addresses. Please register at http://emergency.illinois.edu/.

Anyone else can receive Illini-Alert messages on your phone by sending a text message to 40404 with the text "follow IlliniAlert" (without the quotation marks).

Twitter & Facebook Additionally, you can follow @IlliniAlert on Twitter and/or on Facebook.
